Thinking about Resurfacing Your Existing Concrete?

Concrete Resurfacing is a way of making your tired old concrete look like new again. It is also an excellent and economical way of increasing the value and liveability of your home and can be done both indoors and outdoors. Essentially, it is a decorative coating - providing you with a brand new look at a fraction of the cost of removing and replacing the concrete with new concrete or another flooring system. Concrete Resurfacing can be applied to areas such as driveways, patios, pathways, pool surrounds, garage floors and entertainment areas.

What's Available in Concrete Resurfacing?

Concrete Resurfacing also known as Spray On Paving, is available in a wide range of colours, designs and textures to suit any type of decor. Some options include sandstone, granite, brick and paved finishes. Multiple colours can be used in order to provide an aged look or you can even recreate the look of stamped concrete. Borders are often done in a different colour or patterns to bring highlights to the concrete. The work is sealed to ensure that the finish is water resistant and durable. Many resurfacing products are also slip reduced for safety.

What can Concrete Resurfacing be used for?

Resurfacing is best done on surfaces that are clean and structurally sound. Small cracks can be covered by the resurfacing materials but larger cracks will need to be repaired first for optimal results. Be aware that resurfacing will not solve problems that cause damage to your concrete such as underlying soil movement. Aggregate and pebble finishes can be resurfaced. Maintance is very simple as the sealing of the new surface means that it can be hosed down. Stains can be removed with soap and water or with a citrus based cleaner.

About Concrete Resurfacing ...

Concrete Resurfacing is generally done using polymer-modified overlay systems or cement based overlays. Polymer-modified overlays blend polymer resins with cement, sand and other additives in order to improved performance, wear resistance and aesthetic qualities. The overlay can be applied in layers as thin as a credit card or up to several inches thick, depending on what is necessary for your concrete.
